PR en los Óscar, de la mano de Lin Manuel y José Andrés
El nombre de Puerto Rico se mantuvo en las pantallas de millones de personas alrededor del mundo esta noche como parte de la celebración de la 90ma entrega de los Premios de la Academia de Ciencias y Artes Cinematográficas, los Óscar.
Antes de la ceremonia oficial, en las entrevistas de la alfombra roja, el dramaturgo vegabajeño Lin Manuel Miranda, creador de la sensación de Broadway, 'Hamilton', instó a los televidentes a apoyar a la Isla mediante hacer turismo aquí.
'Mantengan a Puerto Rico en la conversación. Se que no hay escasez de cosas en las noticias, pero mantengan a Puerto Rico en sus corazones', dijo, al tiempo que añadió que los hoteles están abiertos y que la Isla está recibiendo turistas.

Por otro lado, la Isla tambien fue mencionada por el rapero Common durante una emotiva intervención en la que lo acompañaron 10 activistas de distintos movimientos, como la comunidad transgenero y los sobrevivientes de ataques con armas de fuego en las escuelas. Common y Andra Day interpretaron la canción 'Stand Up for Something', de la película 'Marshall.'
